Key Health Care Dates
- September 1, 2009 - New state of Texas laws go into effect. These include House Bill 2256, which is regarding facility-based physicians, and a law that requires insurance companies to notify patients of out-of-network issues and another law that requires insurers to provide real-time information at the time of an office visit.

- October 1, 2009 - Stark 3 changes go into effect. Changes to the leasing of office space or equipment, "per-click" payments in lease provisions and the revised definition of an "entity."

- October 1-2, 2009 - Medicare suppliers of DME, orthotics and supplies must be accredited and secure a surety bond by these dates.
